Notability is my primary note-taking app in my iPad. For months, I was hoping that I could use this amazing app in desktop computer. Now I finally can.
Notability for Mac is priced at $9.99 in US App Store, $12.99 here in Australia. According to its App Store description, Notability for Mac is a powerful note-taker to annotate documents, sketch ideas, record lecturers, take notes and more. It combines typing, handwriting, audio recording and photos to create any notes that fit our needs. The Mac version supports drag and drop from desktop to library. It has keyboard shortcuts, allowing for efficient usage.
Handwriting and sketches can be scaled, transformed, rotated, nudged and restyled. Supposedly the Mac version has been adjusted to the usage of mouse or trackpad, but I wouldn’t really try it since I always prefer to type my notes instead of using handwriting. Personal choice.
It’s always nice to have all our notes synced between devices. This Mac version also supports iCloud sync and backup to Dropbox or Google Drive. Personally I like the simplicity of note organizing in Notability. It allows me to organize my notes with enough flexibility without going too far with too many complicated options.
The one factor that I like: notes look the same in iPhone, iPad and Mac.
