Belkin Dual USB Charger F8J003 is a wall charger with 2 USB ports. It weighs 118 gr and the size is 8 x 7 x 3 cm. This is considerably heavier and larger than many other dual USB chargers. Then why do I consider this product as a worthy purchase? Most other “multiple ports chargers” have their charging power divided among their ports. For example when a dual charger offers 10 W charging capability, it does not mean that we get 10 W from each port. Well, if we only use one port at a time, we will get its full capacity. But if we charge two devices at once, each port will only get maximum 5 W charging. Yes our devices will still get charged, but at considerably slower speed.
I bought this Belkin charger because it promises 5V / 2.1 A (~10 W) charging for EACH port. So it would charge 2 devices at 10 W each, simultaneously. This is like having two separate chargers, bundled as one, which is exactly what I am looking for.
This charger comes with Apple 30-pin cable, which I do not need. But other than that, everything else work perfectly fine. I can charge a full-sized iPad and an iPad mini and they both (supposedly) receive up to 10 W charging power. Currently there is no way for me to actually measure the charging current, but I will probably try to get a measuring device in the future.
