Fitbit Aria is a smart scale product with WiFi connectivity. It tracks our weight, percentage of body fat and BMI. With proper set up, it can be connected to 8 Fitbit accounts and will automatically detect the person. Every data is automatically synced to our Fitbit account via WiFi. We can easily access our data using Fitbit app in our phone (or by opening Fitbit website) and get our data presented in charts and graphs. Basically, this is a device to make it slightly easier for us to track our progress with weight (in our efforts to lose or gain some weight).
I am a long time user of Fitbit One (more than a year) and when I saw a promo price on Fitbit Aria, I decided to give it a try. There are 2 color options: black and white. As usual, I choose the white version.
My first impression on Fitbit Aria was a good one. It looks sleek and solid. The setting up process is a bit not intuitive, but it’s not difficult as long as you follow its guide. Adding family members is as easy as sending and accepting invitations. There is no on/off button, or any button. We simply just step on the scale and it will automatically turned on, display our weight, % body fat and then syncing the latest data via WiFi. The result appears instantly in my iPhone’s Fitbit app.
I used to avoid scale. Now I regularly use it every morning. Maybe it’s just me. But I do feel it’s more encouraging to monitor my weight with this “smart” concept, integrated to the app already used to handle my step counter. Hopefully it will actually help me to lose some weight after a bit of time.
