I really like Plox Powerbox 3000 mAh backup battery. That battery feels solid and the built-in lightning connector is nicely designed at the bottom, making it very comfortable and practical for everyday usage. My only issue with it is the small capacity. 3000 mAh is effectively good only for one time full charge use because most of the time when we need extra power on the go, we charge our phone while still using it. In my case, while still heavily using it.

Hoping to have even better backup battery, I decided to get the bigger version of Plox Powerbox with 6000 mAh capacity. Just like its smaller sibling, this battery has no button. I am still not entirely sure how it detects usage, but when I pull out the lightning cable and move the battery, the LED indicator turns on, indicating the remaining power left. Without button, I do not need to worry that accidentally pressing the button will stop the charging while this battery and my phone are both inside my pocket.

Next, this battery charges fast, and never got to the point of uncomfortably hot. The size is noticeably bigger than I initially thought. It’s not as lightweight as the 3000 mAh model, doesn’t feel as nice to be held together with my phone, but still not to the point of uncomfortable. There’s a full-sized USB port that I can use to plug any cable to charge anything else. Not super convenient but does offer some flexibility. Having MFi status is a nice added bonus.

This powerbank does inherit strong points from Powerbox series. Despite having bigger size and more weight, its good points are still enough for me to use it as everyday battery.
