This desktop charger from Anker has 5 USB ports. The top 2 ports are QuickCharge 3.0 charging ports, backward compatible with earlier versions of QuickCharge technology from Qualcomm. The remaining 3 ports are PowerIQ ports, meaning they will charge devices without QuickCharge technology to the fastest possible speed. Anker PowerPort Speed 5 is another compact charger from Anker, measuring 102 x 75 x 28mm. It’s also lightweight, too (205g).

One thing I like from this dekstop charger is its rounded edges design. It doesn’t really affect any functionality, but it makes if feels comfortable to hold, and gives the assurance of good build quality. It has a nice-looking blue LED at the top of its ports, making it my favourite desktop charger design so far.

Specs-wise, the QC 3.0 ports is rated to deliver 3.6-6.5V=3A, 6.5-9V=2A or 9-12V=1.5A. The PowerIQ ports delivers 5V of electricity, with 2.4A max per port. All ports combined, this charger is capable to deliver 63W of juice for our power-hungry gadgets. It is worth to note that when those QC 3.0 ports are being used to charge non QC-compatible products, it will serve 5V 1A electricity (5W), obviously not the fastest possible rate for most tablets, or perhaps some laptop.

As expected from Anker products, this desktop charger works really well. It is reassuring that in my tests, this charger never got to the point of too hot. Using all 5 ports at once for a while will make it somewhat lukewarm, but that’s the maximum temperature I ever felt from it. Happy with this purchase.
