Bali is one of the most popular tourist destination in Indonesia. Located near Java island, Bali is often called “Pulau Dewata” (The Island of Gods) because there are many Hindu Temples (called “Pura”) on this island.
I choose Bali as my holiday destination this year (2007). It was a pleasant visit. Lots of tourist attractions, beautiful sceneries, unique culture, friendly people, all these things will make you enjoy your holiday in Bali.

Pura Tanah Lot is located near the sea. It is a temple in a separated island, but very close to the main island. People said you can see very beautiful sunset here. Unfortunately, when I got there the weather was very cloudy and windy, so… I can not see any sunset. |

Pura Tirtha Empul is located in Tampak Siring area. The water here is elieved to have power to heal skin diseases. Many people come here (even tourists) to get cured by the holy water. |

Pura Goa Lawah, a Hindu temple protected by hundreds of bats. This temple is just newly renovated, so it’s kind of new and shiny now. |

Pura Besakih is the mother temple of all other temples in Bali. It’s a complex of temples, build in a formation like a glorious castle. To reach the main temple, visitors need to walk from the car park for about 1 km. Quite a journey, but I assure you, it’s worth it ! |

Alas Kedaton means “The Forest Kingdom” in Balinese language. In this area, visitors can see hundreds of friendly monkeys roaming around freely. They are not caged, and we can even feed them ! |
Barong dance is a traditional dance from Bali.
Barong is a tiger-like creature which represents good side in the battle of good and evil. |

These are only few highlights of Bali.
There are still many more places to visit and tourist attractions to see.
I have no relation in any way with Indonesian tourism department.
Photos in this page are my personal collection taken from my visit to Bali, 23-27 December 2007.
