Backup battery for our smart-phones is a common accessory many people carry everyday. Some call it power bank, some others call it portable charger, but we know what it is: a block of lithium battery that will carry some backup energy for our devices. We charge it at home, and use it in places where we can’t use our wall charger.
Most backup batteries provides standard USB ports for their outputs. This accommodates different types of devices cable: from micro-USB, mini-USB, lightning connector or even some unique connectors only used for specific devices such as Fitbit trackers or smartwatch charger. When it gains more popularity, the new USB-C will also join the diversity or cables. Some models of power bank comes with built-in cable, either micro-USB or lightning, the most common connectors as per today. Micro-USB is used in many Android devices and lightning connector is used in iPhone and iPad devices.
Despite all the variety of output ports, there is one overwhelming fact in perhaps 99% of power bank: they are all charged from micro-USB input. So, even iPhone users only need lightning cable to charge their phones, they would still need to carry micro-USB cable to charge the extra battery.
Not anymore with Zikko ET World Power 5000. I found this interesting backup battery from Zikko. It can be charged using micro-USB OR lightning cable. iPhone users would only need to bring one cable for a complete solution now.
Weighs 126 gr, this battery is thin and compact. Its exact dimensions are 13.7 cm x 6.8 cm x 0.7 cm. It’s very comfortable to hold at the back of our iPhone when charging. Its weight is also not bad. I can hold both my phone and this battery throughout the charging time while on the go without feeling uncomfortable.
Nice battery with somewhat rare feature. Definitely a keeper.
