victorinox-climber-pouchI wanted to have a Victorinox Swiss Army Knife since more than 10 years ago. Somehow I never ended up getting one. Instead, I kept getting myself some cheaper brands pocket knives, or even ones without any brand. As expected, most of the time I got disappointed. Those knifes were either got rusty, not sharp enough after very minimum use, got incredibly tough to unfold, snapped into two pieces or could hurt my hand in folded position thanks to poor build.

Few weeks ago I decided to finally get myself a Victorinox-brand pocket knife, so I started learning about the available models.

Turns out, Victorinox has plenty different models of pocket knives, from simple ones to some models with LED lights, digital clock, altimeter, thermometer and barometer. It comes in various sizes and shapes. Some of the models are smaller, some others come in thick-card design to some custom shapes. Some models are slim and simple with only few features, some others are thick with more than 40 features. I choose a classic model with medium amount of features that I probably need the most: Climber model. I do not enjoy any activity or sport related to climbing. This choice is more about the features included in Climber model rather than the model name itself. There are 2 versions of Climber: the one bundled with a carrying pouch or the one without. Since buying a separate pouch will cost me more, I decided to get the one with carrying pouch. There are multiple color options available, but of course I went with the classic red.

victorinox-climber-numbersVictorinox Climber comes with 14 features:
1. Large blade
2. Small blade
3. Corkscrew
4. Can opener with –
> 5. Small screwdriver (also for Phillips screws)
6. Bottle opener with –
> 7. Large screwdriver
> 8. Wire stripper
9. Reamer
10. Key ring
11. Tweezers
12. Toothpick
13. Scissors
14. Multi-purpose hook

Overall I like my new pocket knife. The build quality is really good, the knives are sharp and the material seems durable. Only time can really prove that durability factor though. The carrying pouch looks nice and simple. It has a built-in belt-clip. The flip button is a bit hard to snap, but otherwise it’s a very good case for this knife.
